The Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge
Help me to raise money for the Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals’ Charitable Fund by continuing to donate to my Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge which I successfully completed on 26th June 2022; a distance of 24 miles in one day!
My story
My name is Councillor M Ilyas Raja and I am a member of Woking Borough Council and also Deputy Mayor. On the 26th of June 2022 I will be walking the 24 miles of the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge to raise money for the maternity unit at St Peter’s Hospital.
St Peter’s is our local hospital which has provided tremendous care and support for families within its catchment area over many years, including during the birth of my 5 children. It is important that, as a community, we give back to the NHS to say thank you for all that our hospital does for us.
The Charity’s main focus is to improve the experience of patients, their families/carers, and staff at both Ashford and St Peter's hospitals by enhancing the hospitals' environment and providing supplementary equipment or additional services that are above and beyond what the NHS can provide.
It would be amazing if you could help with my fundraising effort. Please support me on my adventure and by working together we can further enhance the maternity services for future generations.
Challenge completed!
Jun 28, 2022, 5:13:02 PMI achieved my walking challenge and completed all 3 peaks! Tired but very happy. The oldest person on the day to complete the distance. Feeling very proud and thankful. The Yorkshire Three Peaks includes, Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough.
