Strollin' for the colon
On the 6th of April I will be running my first half marathon to support the Colorectal Team at St Peter's Hospital! This will be a huge test of character and commitment but will be worth it to give back to the NHS.
A little bit about me
I will be partaking in this years London Landmarks in support of my team at Colorectal. This will be my first ever running event which is quite daunting but I am looking forward to the atmosphere and the overall sense of accomplishment after crossing the finish line. I am not the fastest by any means and I am definitely not the fittest but I am extremely determined which will be the main driving force in finishing this. I typically run leisurely so it has been a huge challenge the last few months in training, especially will the cold, dreary weather. Before getting into running, I was a gymnast and competed at an international level for both Great Britain and Slovakia so I understand the difficulties and commitment it takes to achieve a goal. I can't say that, when the day comes, it will be easy and straightforward but I really look forward to running with my fellow ASPH colleagues and the amazing atmosphere this event will bring. So, if you can spare a few pennies that would be greatly appreciated by both myself and everyone in the Colorectal department as we strive to better not only ourselves but the service we can provide insuring better care and treatment for our patients.
